新竹集會所

This is a project with a budget under one hundred and fifty thousand US dollars. The client Shin-Chu City Council plans to build several community centers in the eastern district. These community centers will not only offer the citizen places to meet, but also to hold various cultural, leisure and social activities. This community center is different from other community centers because it locates at the city park and there is a busy market place just across the street. To distinguish the center to its vivacious surroundings of the bustling market place and children playground, the design intension is to position the building as a place of serenity, and will offer the community a place for static activities.

這是一個工程預僅500萬的小案子。業主為新竹市東區區公所。區公所配合市政計劃預計在各里設置里民集會所，以提供平日里民集會、討論、休閒、以及文化性的活動場所。而頂竹里集會所較一般不同的是位於新竹市公十六公園上，隔街相望的是一使用量頗大的竹蓮市場。故相較於市場的活力與公園上原有的遊樂設施活動，將集會所定位為一靜態的使用為本案初始的策略。

The main entrance is by the road. Some outdoor space acts as a transitional element to link to a walkway leading to the service area at the back. The characteristic of the interiors space is a concaved meeting space expending outwards through the articulating of openings, materials, and lightings. It creates a space flowing fluidly from inside to outside. Expending to the outmost wall, it becomes a clear boundary, which defines the distinct characteristics of the park, the market and the street. 

在空間上的配置上主入口配置於鄰馬路側並藉由一半戶外空間作為緩衝的空間以及通往後側服務區的走道。內部由主要的空間 - 一內聚性的集會空間向外發散，藉由開口、材料、天花等的處理使空間彼此相互流通，此處理延伸至外牆則轉為一清楚界定的邊緣，並分別對公園、市場、街道作出各自的詮釋。

在材料的使用上，由於空間上互通式的處理，在內與外的界定模糊的狀況下選擇清水混凝土作為主要的材料。且其材料素靜的本質也有助於集會所相對於公園低調的存在。
